The Challenge

Wrexham AFC's remarkable rise brought unprecedented global attention. The club needed social media graphics that could keep pace with a rapidly growing international fanbase while staying true to the club's identity and matchday rhythm.

Goal graphics, lineup cards, substitution templates and milestone content all had to feel consistent and on-brand at speed.

The Outcome

A full matchday social media pack — goal graphics, substitution cards, lineup posts, 100-appearances milestones and quote cards — all built to a consistent template system.

The club's social team could produce broadcast-quality content at match pace, every game, all season.

Context

The rise of Wrexham AFC is one of the most watched brand stories in world football. Hollywood ownership, a global documentary and back-to-back promotions turned a National League side into a club followed on every continent.

That kind of attention is rare. The pressure it puts on a club's communications is relentless. Every result is a headline. Every matchday lands in front of a fan base that grew from a few thousand diehards to millions of casual watchers in under two years.

Most football clubs never have to solve that design problem. Wrexham AFC had to solve it fast, between fixtures, with no room to get it wrong.

The Brief

Every matchday produces ninety minutes of live moments. Goals, substitutions, cards, milestones and final scores all have to ship within seconds of the whistle, across every platform, in a way that feels premium every single time.

That cannot be one designer opening Photoshop after every goal. It has to be a system. And the system has to hold up on an Instagram scroll next to Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City without looking outgunned.

Our Approach

Every asset started from the same brand code. Red, black, the club crest given the space it deserves, Wrexham's typographic voice kept tight and structural.

From there we broke every matchday moment into its own reusable module. A goal graphic is a different object to a lineup card is a different object to a milestone post. Each one has its own information hierarchy. Each one has to communicate at glance speed.

We designed every module to a shared grid and type scale so the system feels like one pack and not thirty disconnected templates. Photography treatments, colour blocks, overlay rules, safe areas and platform sizing all locked down in the delivery so the club's social team could execute without making a judgement call under live pressure.

The point of a template is that the thinking is already done. Our job was to make the thinking invisible so the publishing could stay fast.
